Lack . Unstrung
01.15 - 02.19.2016
ampersand international arts is thrilled to announce the opening of two solo exhibitions featuring works by sculptural and conceptual Bay Area artists, Melissa Miller and Brian Perrin. Please join us for Lack by Melissa Miller and Unstrung by Brian Perrin, opening Friday, January 15th, 2016.
Melissa Miller's Lack is a witty critique of the Minimalist movement that explores the significance and acceptance of art, artists and mediums. Recreating iconic works from renowned minimalist artists with materials from the world's largest furniture chain, Miller exercises ones freedom to question and play with concepts within modern art.
In Brian Perrin's Unstrung, multi-dimensional pieces give familiar geometry a redesigned platform. Perrin's intricate manipulation of shapes and shadows are executed using a variety of mediums and techniques. From crocheted monofilament to rusted copper, the details, patterns and methods of construction, perplex and fascinate.
Please visit ampersand international arts January 15th through February 19th, 2016 to view Lack featuring works by Melissa Miller and Unstrung featuring works by Brian Perrin. Gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays 12pm to 5pm or by appointment.
