An Elephant's Footsteps Lead to Firm Ground
05.20 - 06.24.2016
ampersand international arts is thrilled to announce “An Elephant's Footsteps Lead to Firm Ground”, the first solo exhibition in the United States for Mexico City based artist, Alvaro Verduzco.
The exhibition will feature a range of works, from small scale to large wall interventions, figurative illustrative drawings to abstract interpretations of memory. Since 2008, Verduzco has been examining the ways newspaper images are carefully tailored to create an impact on the viewer. Verduzco's re-editing of press images, points to the process by which an image becomes encrypted in our psyches as a collective memory. Also presenting pieces from his 'blue tape' series, Verduzco explores the notions of time, cycles, repetitions, degradation, space and its phenomenology.
Please join us in an intimate exploration of the mechanics and creations of memories in the solo exhibition “An Elephant's Footsteps Lead to Firm Ground” by Alvaro Verduzco Friday, May 20th through Friday, June, 24th, 2016.
